Painting

These are some detail shots of some paintings I've been working on. I've been playing around with painting lately and it's been a refreshing departure from my usual workflow of mostly computer editing. I went to art school but have never been good at drawing or painting so the experience of painting brings me way out of my comfort zone. I've really enjoyed working with color and how unpredictable the process is. 

I've also been listening to the Creative Insurgents podcast and want to recommend it to all fellow artists. It's challenged me to think about where I want my work to lead me and also offers unconventional ideas on how to get business, get into shows, etc. If you're thinking about listening the "Straight Talk on the Business of Being an Artist with Shirley Williams" and "How to Create Art in a Series and Why You Should with Lisa Call."
